Ladies With Game Tailgate with Jessie James Decker

Every football fan has their own definition of when the "Official" start of the NFL season takes place. Some will argue it begins with the Draft, some say pre-season, and some will adamantly argue that the season does not start until the whistle blows at kickoff for the season opener.

For me, living in the NYC area means that I am fortunate enough to attend some of the numerous Kickoff Week festivities that the Big Apple plays host to. This marks my official start and is by far one of my favorite weeks of the season.

One particular event that I was certainly looking forward to this year was the Smirnoff Ice Ladies With Game Tailgate. Any excuse to get glammed up, drink a little and play some corn-hole all in the name of Football has my name written all over it!

Jessie James Decker was gracious enough to take some time away from being a new mom and getting settled in a new city to host the evening.

I've been to my share of "Celebrity Host" events and I have to say Jessie takes the cake. She mingled with the girls, got a manicure, and even showed off some of her serious corn-hole skills. She really was the down-to-earth girlfriend that we all see on TV and wish we could have a wine and pizza night with.

On top of the games and food, themed beauty stations were set up for the ladies to be treated to "Victory Blowouts" & "Fanicures" -- I opted for a Jets themed green & white manicure, but in typical clutz fashion managed to smudge it before the end of the night. Oops!

Of course it wouldn't be a proper tailgate without some finger foods and great drinks. There were plenty of bottles of Smirnoff Ice being served but the overall favorite for the night was definitely the Screwdriver Sangria. Easy to prepare and served up in a mason jar they made for the perfect ladies night cocktail.

I've included the recipe below along with an additional recipe for the Smirnoff Ice Apple Preparada.

Screwdriver Sangria

·         Soak fruit in wine. Pour in punch bowl. Stir in Smirnoff Ice Screwdriver.

Smirnoff Ice Apple Preparada

·         Layer fresh fruit, chamoy, chili lime salt, and candy (optional) over ice
·         Add any Smirnoff Ice flavor

·         Garnish with fruit as desired

  1. Can't wait to try the sangria! Thanks for sharing :)

  2. Very interesting blog. A lot of blogs I see these days don't really provide anything that attract others, but I'm most definitely interested in this one. Just thought that I would post and let you know.
