Team Spirit Wreath

It's that time of year again! Stores are practically giving away leftover holiday why not take advantage of their generosity, grab some items in your team's favorite colors, fire up the glue gun and get at it?

I've never attempted to make a wreath of any kind before so if you're in the same boat don't worry. Constructing something that looks good was not as difficult as those Pinterest gurus make it seem, I promise...

Breaking up with Mark...

Dear Mark,

I was going to write a love letter telling you not to let any of the "ass kissing" jokes, retirement of Fireman Ed and 3rd string comments get to you. But as my Pandora plays “November Rain” in the background, I’ve thought about it-- I've been pretty supportive during this 3-almost-4-year relationship we've had, but I think we may need to take a break.

I can recall the first day I laid eyes on you like it was yesterday...September 13, 2009 - the day after my 21st birthday…OK -- maybe it's a little fuzzy.

Flea Flicker Fruit Fluff

Flea Flicker:
A trick play in football that occurs when the QB hands the ball off laterally to a teammate, usually a running back, who fakes a run but before crossing the line of scrimmage (the blue line across the field when you're watching on TV), tosses the ball back to the QB who then finds a receiver down the field to pass.

Ok remember when you were younger and little Johnny stole the Barbie you were playing with during recess? Then he tosses it to Bobby who is standing next to him a few feet away and just as you start running to Bobby he tosses it back to Johnny. Now as you're running back to Johnny and thinking "Great, I hate Monkey in the Middle!" he throws it forward across the playground to that kid who's always picking his nose. Newsflash - the boys just pulled a flea flicker on you and poor Barbie now has boogers in her hair.

#LadyNFLTip: The Flea Flicker was created by University of Illinois coach Bob Zuppke who named the play after the imagery of "the quick flicking action of a dog getting rid of fleas"

I'm going to assume Barbie is a classy lady and enjoys Grand Marnier so I'd like to share one of the many amazing recipes that my mother picked up while swapping ideas with fellow military wives and simultaneously wiping my tears when the boys next door would steal our toys...

Pretty freakin' cute right?

I've gotten so many compliments on this tee and had to share - best part? The design can be printed on any shirt you want! Long sleeve, short sleeve, v-neck, burnout, etc.

I opted for the short sleeve burnout so I can wear a long sleeve underneath in my team colors :)

Happy Shopping!

Restore The Shore

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last 3 weeks then I'm sure you are aware of the devastation that Hurricane Sandy brought to the East Coast. I'm going to spare you the pictures of the ruined homes, flooded streets and distraught residents. I want to focus on the positive - communities coming together to spread hope, raise funds and help out with the relief efforts.

I grew up at the Jersey Shore and many people may only know our towns as the place where MTV drunks go to get wasted and hook up in a shore house - but for those of us that live here year round and call these towns home it is so much more. Our residents aren't Guidos and Guidettes running around drunk with orange tans and awful accents. We are working families that appreciate the Atlantic Ocean and beautiful beaches that we call home. These boardwalks and businesses were some family's livelihoods...washed away in a matter of hours. This is our home, it was destroyed, and we WILL rebuild it.

In the days and weeks following the storm the Shore has seen countless acts of kindness and examples of why we continuously use the term #JerseyStrong.

In addition to the first responders and power crews from across the nation that have shown their round-the-clock support for our towns and residents I would like to thank the sports organizations around the area for bringing some smiles to my home town.

Kisses for our Troops

Happy Veteran's Day to my Daddy and all of the past, present and future Veterans!

Happy Pinning!

I'm sure many of you are on Pinterest already and are probably just as addicted as I am, but on the off chance that you are reading this and haven't taken advantage yet -- DO IT! DO IT NOW!

No seriously, its a great place to swap ideas, pick up DIY tricks, and discover quick new recipes. Hell, even if you don't want to pin anything at least follow some boards to get your own creative juices flowing and get inspired.

You can follow me on Pinterest at OvrtimeWithKiki  - I'm still trying to figure out how to get the "Pin It" button to work on here, but please feel free to pin anything you see on my site!

Free Gear??...Yes Please!

A couple weeks ago I started following the NFL Fan Style account on Facebook & Twitter and whaddya know? They're as eager to give away awesome free stuff as I am to accept it...

Trophy Wife...

I fell in love this weekend...with Essie's Trophy Wife.

If you're a Jets or Eagles fan I highly recommend this one as your game day shade ;)

A night with Top Shelf Tailgate

If you've ever been in the vicinity of lot E24 at Met Life Stadium before any Jets or Giants game in the past few years you may have noticed a new breed of tailgating taking over the lot - Top Shelf Tailgate.

What’s the difference between a Top Shelf Tailgate and an ordinary tailgate you ask? Imagine trying to cut down a tree in the yard using a KMart 14inch electric chainsaw as opposed to manning up and using the Husqvarna 24inch. Or better yet, if you're a lady think Wet ‘n Wild vs MAC cosmetics.

I wasn't sure what to expect my first time tailgating with Charlie and his crew, but after experiencing this awesomeness firsthand, it’d be a sin not to spread the word…

Crucial Catches

If any of you watched the Bears vs. Cowboys or Cardinals vs. Rams games this past Monday & Thursday then you may have noticed some awesomely pink accents being splattered across your television screen....and No, Elle Woods did not replace Rodger Goodell as commissioner of the NFL...

Man Candles

I’m a BIG fan of Yankee Candles so I was excited to learn that they came out with a ManCandle line. Now I know what you’re thinking – Man Candles? How could they possibly smell good??

Well don’t worry I marched myself over to the mall to buy one and test it out…

Crab Rolls right off the "Chop Block"

A Chop Block in football happens when an offensive player (O) - the guys with possession of the ball - tries to cut off a defensive player (X) - the guys protecting the goal/endzone - by coming from behind or from the side while the X  is already engaged with another O player...Basically the X is is caught completely off-guard by Os and pretty much defenseless to the chop.

Imagine being in TJMaxx eyeing a beautiful Michael Kors bag for half the normal retail price and you are distracted by womanZ complimenting your shoes while womanY swipes the bag off the rack when your back is turned. Cheap shot, but it's happened to us all.

#LadyNFLtip: Chop Blocks are illegal in the NFL and usually result in a 15yd penalty

Anywayyyy, when I saw this recipe from Pillsbury I knew I needed to try it out ASAP. Comparing it to a Chop Block is're going to be so distracted by how cheap and easy this is that your man is going to eat them all while you're still texting your girlfriends to brag...

Monday Night Football anyone?

I came across this picture today while playing around on Pinterest.
It's Monday, this is awesome. Enough said.

"BLITZ!!" Buffalo Chicken Dip

Have you ever heard the announcer or your man yell "they're going for the Blitz!" during a game and wonder what they are talking about? Well its pretty simple really - a Blitz is when the defensive players (they guys without possession of the ball) rush the opposite team's quarterback to try and tackle him to the ground before he has a chance to throw the ball. If they accomplish that then it is called a Sack.

#LadyNFLtip: the term Blitz in Football is considered to have started in San Francisco in 1957 and was originally called a "Red Dog"

Now lets get to the more important part of this post....the Buff Dip

Kickoff 2012 Video

I took advantage of  GMC's booth at yesterday's NFL Kickoff Village in Times Sq. that offered to let fans pretend to be a "live" correspondent for Monday Night Football...

Here's the video - I felt silly doing it but it was fun to pretend to actually be part of the MNF action!

Enjoy :)

NFL Kickoff 2012

One of the many reasons I love working in New York City is the simple fact that there is a surprise around just about every corner…

London 2012

The 2012 Summer Olympics will be kicking off a week from today! Here's some shots from the pow-wow event they hosted in Times Square =)

Good Luck To All The Athletes Participating!

Homecoming Queen or Football Player?

Is Mo Isom a talented athlete? Yes. Is Mo Isom a beautiful young woman? Yes. Should Mo Isom be allowed to play football for LSU? Hmm...

After reading an article about Mo's tryout for the position of kicker on LSU's football team the first thing that came to mind was No - women should not be permitted to play on football teams at the college level or in the NFL. Football is a man's sport, always has been and always will be. I'm a woman, I love the sport and I love to play a game of two-hand-touch, but at the end of the day it’s still a man's sport.

"When we go to kicking off into the corner, we count on our kicker making some tackles, and it's just not something I'm comfortable she's ready to do. It's one of those spots you really can't put a person that cannot tackle."
- LSU coach Les Miles

That being said I decided to learn a little more about this brunette beauty who dared to defy the laws of man. What I found surprised me…

This Ain't Your Momma's Party Platter

So do you call this a Party Platter or a Party Stadium??

Either way, I NEED to find out how to make one!
