Your Favorite Game Day Foods

NFL playoff season is quickly approaching!

Some women could care less about playoffs but I however look forward to the games even if my team doesn't make it (fingers crossed Jets). For me the most enjoyable part of NFL playoffs is the food. I love to cook and cooking for the guys is ten times more enjoyable. You never have to worry about leftovers and most of all they always compliment the chef! I like to look at it as training because one day I hope to be the mom who has all her husband's/son's friends over for the games. Haha.

I'm working on putting a post together to highlight a list of the Top 10 Game Day Foods. I would like to be able to add recipes and tips too, so if you have any ideas please feel free to comment!

Happy Birthday Rex!

In honor of Rex Ryan's 49th birthday I have decided to share a list of his Top 10 Quotes put together by Ed Easton Jr for in an article from this past January. For some reason my all time favorite "Lets go eat a Goddamn snack!" from HBO's Hard Knocks wasn't included? Ohh well, I'm sure we could add a few new ones but I thought these were worth sharing...Enjoy

A Tebow Centaur? Seriously??

Even if I did not have the slightest clue who Tim Tebow was or if I was oblivious to his completely over-hyped media image.. I would still die laughing if I saw this tattooed on someone's calf. And if this was my boyfriend, well I'd probably break up with him.

Some crazy Tebow lover had the brilliant idea to go into a Denver tattoo shop with this design and have himself permanently branded with the awful image of half Bronco's quarterback half centaur.

Guess it's no longer "ToneTime" - it's "Tebow Time"?

Football fans never cease to amaze...

25,000 Teddy Bears On The Ice?

If I saw a hockey fan walking to the rink with a teddy bear I would probably laugh.

Throwing stuffed animals on the ice after your team scores its first goal is not exactly the most manly thing in the world. But then I came across this video and now I will have to agree with Brian Noe of ESPN Radio104.5 and give fans a pass on the non-manly teddy bears because it is all for a good cause...

Countdown to Christmas - 20 Days!!

The countdown to Christmas has begun!

If you're like me you are probably desperately trying to find a good gift for your guy. This is no easy task - trust me. Maybe he really is as picky as I think, or maybe I just can't get out of the mindset that every gift needs to be perfect in order to earn that coveted "Wow bro, your girlfriend is awesome!" stamp of approval from friends when he shows off the new gift.

I'm trying a new approach this holiday season, its called Getting Your Shopping Done Early.... crazy - I know. So while trying to stick with my new plan I decided to go stop in to Bob's Stores this weekend and see what I could find.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got there because they had a TON of great gift ideas! They had great deals on regular sports apparel and things but they also had a lot of really cute Teamwear items for every age that would make perfect stocking stuffers.  I contemplated going for the Yankees logo ping-pong balls but decided against it since Boyfriend isn't really in a college dorm anymore and beer pong is probably not high on his list of current pastimes. After passing the ornaments, lawn gnomes, golf tees, etc. I came across the team Pillow Pets - (insert serious mental battle over buying one for myself here) Hmm another item for my Santa list?? After reminding myself that I was indeed shopping for other and not myself I chose a Yankees Christmas ornament for Boyfriend. I think it would be cute to write the date on the back and use as a memento. I still haven't decided what else to get, but at least I know I have some good options!

P.S -
Since this does happen to be the season of giving & sharing I'd love to share this link to the Bob's Stores coupons for this week. 30% off team gifts & 20% any single item!!

Happy Shopping =)

Wedding Bells For the Bears!!

: This time its official..Jay and I are engaged again :)

Well there you have it - this time it is straight from the bride-to-be, Kristin Cavallari.
If your wondering if this is old news that's because it is...well sort of.
Kristin anncounced her engagement to Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler earlier this year. A few months after the engagement, Jay called it off. Tabloids and gossip columns started twisting stories as usual and I don't think anyone could even count how many times the engagement was On then back Off in the last couple of weeks, hence Kristin's tweet :
"New week new rumor. I'm not engaged u guys."
After Jay called of the engagement Kristin returned the 5ct ring as well as every wedding gift that was already purchased off their registry! She even sent out 'Thank You' notes to everyone who had purchased the gifts explaining that the engagement was called off and that they would receive a full refund. I have to admit, with everything that has been going on in the world of celebrity splits that was a very classy move.
A lot of people can argue that if your significant other wants time apart that it really means they just aren't that into you, or that they are not mature enough to commit. I truly think it depends on the person. Sometimes it really does come back to not knowing what you have until it is gone. Thankfully for Kristin, Jay decided that he really DID want to commit "til death do us part." I'm sure she is still being cautious and very aware of previous hurt feelings but I wish them all the best for the future!
Congrats to Kristin and Jay!

Who Says Holiday Shopping Is Only For Loved Ones??

Touch By Alyssa Milano Denver Broncos Women's Rivalry Hooded Sweatshirt with Tank Top-NFL EXCLUSIVE! -

Happy Cyber Monday!!

Now that we've all awoken from our 'Turkey Comas' and caught up on the lost sleep from Black Friday shopping its time to take advantage of the online savings!

To be completely honest with you, Black Friday has never really appealed to me. The thought of waiting in line to get trampled by deal-hungry overtired housewives at 3am isn't exactly my cup of tea. Let's face it, the only people that should be awake at that hour are night-shift workers and drunk 20somethings stumbling home from the bar. That being said - the rest of us should stick to the comforts of shopping in our pjs and the deals Cyber Monday has to offer.

I was scoping out some sites to see what kind of deals are out there when I came across the lovely woman friendly line called Touch by Alyssa Milano. I'm not sure why I was unaware of this line before (it launched in 2007) but I have to admit the items are cute and not too cheesy. The prices aren't bad either. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't pay $25 for a heart shaped keychain but when you take in to account the licensing fees and the fact that everyone needs to earn some money, $54.99 for NYG Signature Jeans isn't bad at all. Trust me, I'm sure your man won't complain seeing his favorite team's logo on your cute butt ;)

Did I mention NFL Shop is featuring 20% until midnight tonight?!? SCORE!

Dear Cowboys - Is 1,000 Followers Really That Bad?

The Dallas Cowboys played the Miami Dolphins this past Thursday and thanks to an accidental tackle by Dallas tight end Jason Witten, cheerleader Melissa Kellerman must say goodbye to her twitter followers.

Kellerman was taken down by Witten as he ran out of bounds after catching a pass. Witten immediately helped her bounce back up and show the crowd her gorgeous smile and good spirited attitude. Following the game Kellerman shared some cute tweets with her family, friends & followers like any other college girl would do but the Cowboys franchise did not approve.

She sent two tweets Friday morning:
"I'm not the best at Jason Witten trust falls ;)"

"Not hurtin' today, like some of y'all thought I would be! Our TE isn't as tough as he looks... That or I'm WAY tougher than I look. ;)"

Is this honestly grounds for forcing the poor girl off a social networking site? The Cowboys seem to think so. They forced her to shut down her @MelissaRae account and say goodbye to her followers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kellerman's twitter followers tripled to almost 1,000 after Thursday's game. - If I were the Cowboys I wouldn't exactly cry over two tweets reaching only 1,000 followers.

Personally, if it's a bigger spotlight for the cheerleader that they are worried about, I think the Cowboys just created it themselves. Before taking control of Melissa Kellerman's right to tweet the incident was just an example of chivalry and a cute girl with a good attitude. Now the Cowboys franchise has turned this into negative press for themselves and managed to shine the spotlight even brighter on the cheerleader.

Any thoughts?

Hot Couple ALERT

Tonight marks the start of the 2011 season coverage of “Thursday Night Football” on the NFL Network. Kickoff is at 8:20pm with the Denver Broncos hosting the New York Jets.

Well ladies, we are certainly in for a treat. As I was reading my morning twitter feed I saw a @TheJETway tweet mentioning that Denver’s Wide Receiver Eric Decker’s girlfriend would be singing the National Anthem at tonight’s game during halftime. I had no idea the lovely surprise that was in store after I clicked to read the article. Turns out Minnesota native, Decker is in fact a HOTTIE! The worst part is I can’t even be mad Decker is taken. Truth is I’ve secretly had a girl crush on his country singer girlfriend, Jesse James, since she released her first single. She’s beautiful and has a great voice.

After doing a little more research on the couple I found out that Jesse was previously dating Kim Kardashian’s ex Reggie Bush - I sincerely hope she doesn’t follow Kim’s recent relationship trend! Haha but anyway GOOD LUCK to Jesse tonight! Here’s a link to her website if you are interested:

Unfortunately I’ll be driving home to Jersey tonight and won’t be able to watch the game. Sad really, but who knows maybe I’ll have to start watching more Bronco’s games and put my Mark Sanchez crush on the back burner. Thank God for 1050AM Jets Radio!

p.s - here's a few more shots of Denver's new hottie...

Welcome To The Team

First let me say Thank You!!...for actually taking the time to click through my page =)

I have never written a blog before (unless you count my LiveJournal back in middle school) so this should be an interesting journey. I guess I will use this first post to explain my purpose and add some disclaimers.

I’ve always enjoyed sports for as long as I can remember. I would by no means consider myself and expert or professional, but I AM a fan. I wanted to create a blog to highlight the sports world as I see it – in a female’s point of view.

I love to watch games and follow certain teams but in reality female fans see the sports world much differently. Lets face it, when a girl sits down to watch a game she isn’t focused on the batting average of the player up next or who has the highest number of rushing yards, she may be aware, but the female mind is made to multi-task. We watch a game and think “Ohh he’s cute” or “Wow their uniforms are really ugly!” or “God I wish I had that cheerleader’s body.” All of these things cross our mind while still managing to grab the hot tray of wings from the oven, pay attention to the score, and most of all root for our team.

I’d love to tackle different topics related to sports that will spark the everyday girl’s interest. I’ve got a few ideas in mind but please feel free to comment with ideas or questions and I will do my best to research the topic and create a post. I don’t really know if there is an audience for this type of blog but I’m certainly eager to see where this ends up in a year from now.

Ready, set…..GO!
